E / LIVING ARCHES Full sized re-creations of the soaring entry lobby arches of the World Trade Center Towers, their most beautiful visual element, are set on massive granite pedestals forming entry ways to the Memorial. These arches are meant to symbolize the Towers as they once stood. Visitors will pause there to reflect on their gracefulness. The sun’s reflection and shadows from these arches provide an ever-changing impact. The Horror of September 11 destroyed this landmark, yet arches remained standing amid the rubble, an image no person will ever forget.

People coming to the site should forever be able to enter through these arches again as a tribute to the memory of the many lives that passed through them before.
