1-A / CRYSTAL FLAG A magnificent crystal American Flag, with a jewel-quality, is engraved with the names of all the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. Crystal is chosen because of its delicate nature and resounding beauty. The red, clear and blue crystal structure stands 60 feet high, 106 feet long and 6 feet thick. It will rise in excess of 40 feet above the surrounding street level.

The optical science along with natural and projected light from which it is presented will be the most dramatic and visionary use of tinted crystal ever conceived. Light will project upward through the Flag as darkness falls, sweeping out through the names and illuminating this symbol of freedom and sacrifice. Day and night it will pay tribute to the victims in a medium unlike any memorial ever constructed.
