Joe,
The photos are really great. I'm sorry that the turnout wasn't what you expected. 9/11 is becoming an event of the "past" for too many Americans. I hope that they remember before history repeats itself. We'll get the photos up on the website soon. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks again for your support.

Dear John,
On April 20th, 2008 and at 2:00PM - Cherry Hill's "9-11 Remembrance & Patriotic Gratitude" event was observed by a small group of people. All of the hundeds of cherry trees were in blossoms and nearly 800 flags and yellow ribbons were waving in the breeze.
Cherry Hill's Fire firefighters, Cherry Hill Police and VFW veterans from the American Legion Post 372 were in attendance. A group of residence did show up but there were not many of them -- I would guess about 60 people took the time to be there for this solemn occasion.
Former Mayor of Cherry Hill, John Rocco, (he was also a NJ STATE Assemblyman) paid his respect to the victims of 9-11. Under the canopy of cherry blossoms, American flags and yellow ribbons this small group of Americans sang "God Bless America" around your emotionally touching "Flag of Honor".
The small turnout was contributed to the fact that April 20th was also a celebration of "Passover". Cherry Hill's townspeople are predominately made up of the Jewish fate and seemingly were unable to attend this event.
The 9-11 Memorial site you see in the photographs will be maintained for as long as the cherry blossoms remain on the cherry trees. It will be disassembled around May 1st. It sits in front of Joyce Kilmer School and is viewed every day by the hundreds of children that attend the school and thousands of passing motorists that drive along Chapel Avenue.
I was so disappointed in the people of Cherry Hill who chose not to be a part of this important remembrance. The Firefighters of Cherry Hill and the United States veterans of Cherry Hill worked so hard to make this truly a patriotic occasion in support of the 9-11 victims families and our fighting men and women. It was all there to be seen and to be proud.
John -- the "Flag of Honor" was so appropriate for this occasion. It will be on permanent display at the American Legion Post 372 and the "Flag of Heroes" flags will be on permanent display at all of Cherry Hill's Fire departments.
Again John -- Thank You for generosity and supporting this event. I am planning to take new photos of this year's cherry blossoms and will forward them to you
